About Tavira (eastern Algarve).
Tavira is flooded with natural charm and beauty and is steeped in history. Tavira has 37 churches, has quaint cobble stone (know locally as calcadas) walking streets, a Roman bridge crosses over the river Gilao. The Moorish style architecture is to be admired. The river Gilao running through Tavira provides a tranquil setting to sit and contemplate whilst enjoying a drink or a meal at one of the many cafes and restaurants...or you could just relax, take in the atmosphere and watch the world go by.
Tavira has still managed to retain its original characteristics, making Tavira one of the most unique and beautiful cities in the Algarve.The Tavira coastline is calm and peaceful, with an expanse of eleven kilometres of inviting, fine sandy beaches and warm water. Tavira Island and Praia do Barril are the two most popular beaches but you will certainly not be lost for choice. About Vilamoura (central Algarve).
